I first discovered Kiersten Holine about a year ago, and I have been a huge fan of her music ever since. Her song "Bookends and Silent Pages" became an instant classic in my iTunes library. Now she has come out with a new album, Candescent, for me to obsess over. Take a listen to her perfect voice which seems to include the best of blues and folk, and you will see my point :)
I used to say that I didn't have one single favorite band, but now that I have discovered "Cocoon," a France based duo who sing in English, I am beginning to think that I have finally found one. Cocoon's indie folk style songs are exactly my type of music. Every song off of any of their albums is the perfect combination of thought provoking lyrics, mesmerizing vocals, and that certain something that puts a smile on my face. An added bonus; many of their songs feature the ukulele!
PS: Check out Cocoon in the last video I posted as well.
